May Forecast is Here!

What's the biggest astrology story for May? Mercury turns retrograde in Gemini on May 6, and turns direct in Taurus, on the 30th of the month.

Mercury usually turns retrograde three times a year -- however, in 2009 Mercury turns retrograde four different times. For this second retrograde of the year, Mercury turns retrograde in its own sign, Gemini, and it's a time for a thorough review for everyone. The normal Mercury-retro rules all apply: don't sign contracts; do not buy products that are communication-related, such as phones, mp3 players, and computers. The same goes for anything travel-related, such as cars and plane tickets.

There is a full Moon in Scorpio on May 8, urging you to stand back and assess how far you've come. Use the power of this Moon to put finishing touches on your plans.

Saturn, the planet of discipline and karma has been retrograde since December 31, 2008. On May 16, Saturn finally turns direct and opens the door to forward movement and fewer barriers. It will be easier now to create a firm foundation for success. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish!

On May 20, the Sun enters Gemini. It's birthday time for all the Geminis out there, and a time for all of us to open our minds to new ways of thinking.

Neptune, the planet of illusion, turns retrograde in Aquarius on May 28, giving you the opportunity to review how you invest in your dreams, and how to establish a solid foundation for your life achievements.

Finally Mercury turns direct on May 30, and communications become easier and less confusing, so you can move forward and put all your plans in motion.

Venus Turns Direct: Get Your Love Life on Track!

Are you ready to rev-up your romance? Ever since Venus turned retrograde on March 6, you've probably encountered plenty of twists and turns in your love life. You may have met the love of your life; perhaps you were contacted by someone from your past who wants another chance; or maybe you've seriously considered leaving your partner.

Whatever your particular scenario, evaluating your needs and the strength of your connections has been the essence of this retrograde. While relationship review is the motto of any Venus retrograde, maintaining the balance between independence and closeness has been especially important during the last six weeks. Why? Because lovely Venus was retrograde in assertive Aries. Additionally, with Pluto’s square to Venus during this time, you've yearned to connect deeply, and may even have considered letting people go if that spark could not be fanned into a steady flame. Venus finally turns direct on April 17 in Pisces, just in time to get your love life back on track.

Wanted-Tricycle for 4 1/2 yr old

Hi,
I'm looking for a safe & good condition tricycle for my son. He has one, but he has outgrown, which he is passing along to his sister. So, he needs another one to ride on since the weather is getting warmer outside, so I am thinking of getting him a tricycle to cycle with when I bring the kids outside for a walk. If you have an additional one lying around & would like to give it away, I would love to pick it up from you. Thanks in advance. Prefer a pickup either on west or south side.

Happy Birrrrthday to Youuuu,

Happy Birrrrthday to Youuuu,

Happy Birrrrthday Dear Biirtha,

Happy Birrrrthday to Youuuu!

A few years back, not so long ago, heaven and earth erupted into a major celebration with the news of your impending adventure into this very time and space. You see, someone like Biirtha Zelensky doesn’t come along all that often. In fact, there’s never been a single one like you, nor is there ever ANY possibility that another will come again. You’re an Angel among us. Someone, whose eyes see what no others will EVER see, whose ears hear what no others will EVER hear, and whose perspective and feelings will NEVER, ever be duplicated. Without YOU, the Universe, and ALL THAT IS, would be sadly less than it is.

Quite simply:

You’re the kind of person, Biirtha,

Who’s hard to forget,

A one-in-a-million

To the people you’ve met.

Your friends are as varied

As the places you go,

And they all want to tell you

In case you don’t know:

That you make a big difference

In the lives that you touch,

By taking so little

And giving so much!

Biirtha, you are so AWESOME! For your birthday, friends and angels from every corner of the Universe, including buddies you didn’t know you had, will be with you to wish you the HAPPIEST of days and an exciting new year in time and space. You won’t be alone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Biirtha!

PS - Biirtha, this is going to be YOUR year!!
A flower doesn't turn toward the sun because it needs to, but because it wants to, and so the process is effortless and joyful.

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
~Wayne Dyer~
I am saddened by the decision of the government of Alberta's Conservatives to cut Gender Reassignment Surgery from the health budget of the province, to save
$700,000 a year. Meanwhile adding to funding of the Super Board overseeing Alberta Health Service receive another $550 million, bringing its budget to $7.7 billion. Yes to put things in perspective.
I bet the super board will be giving itself a raise very shortly, again or even some bonuses.
I think I may have been the last person in Alberta to receive the operation funding, I hope not. I hope a few were able to get in before this cut hit.
It makes it hard for those in the trans community who do not have the money to flip such a bill of close to $20,000.
I think that we need help to voice an out cry of injustice and concern.
We also need to begin thinking of starting a way to raise money for others in the trans community to be able to afford the process.
I will donate my earnings from revenue generated from my two blogs to this cause. Consider also contacting me if you have ideas of how to start raising funds for the trans community in Alberta.

Budget cuts chiropractic funding, defers medical projects

Budget cuts chiropractic funding, defers medical projects
By Michelle Lang, Calgary HeraldApril 7, 2009 4:01 PM

Alberta's health budget defers several medical projects including nursing homes, while cutting funding for chiropractic patients and sex change operations.

The province's 2009-10 budget, released today, provides $13 billion to the health system, but axes subsidies for chiropractic care that were previously worth $200 annually per patient.

Today's budget also eliminates "gender reassignment" surgery, meaning it will no longer pay for Albertans to have sex change operations, saving the system about $700,000 a year.

The province's superboard received a modest increase in funding of about $550 million, bringing its budget to $7.7 billion.

"We are maintaining our spending from last year and are also able to give Alberta Health Services an increase," said Health Minister Ron Liepert, in a statement.

Captial spending on new and renovated health facilties, however, will decline signfiicantly, to $369 million this year compared to $979 million last year.

The province's health capital plan shows several projects are on hold, including several rural long term care facilties and a north Calgary diagnostic clinic.

April 6, 2009

Just a friendly reminder: Today is Monday, April 6, 2009. And today is the opportunity of a lifetime; it’s the perfect day to do whatever it is that you want to do.

If you want to be a painter, paint. If you want to be a blogger, blog. If you want to be a lover, love.

The only thing holding you back is you.
I am reflective today. Where am I going? Where have I been? It's a good time to take stock of my life and seek areas that scream for balance. Some shuffling of priorities will put everything back in harmony.

Polyandry : Will You Live with a Woman with Multiple Partners?

I am a transwoman, I have had a sex change.
I am wondering if Polyandry would work.
To find two bi-guys or one guy at first aware of the plan. Then live together. Share housing. Whether one bed for three or each with a room and one big bed in the woman room.
Would it work?
First I need to find a bi guy who would go for it.
Wonder.

"The Christine Jorgensen Story" part 3

Part 3 of clips from "The Christine Jorgensen Story" After her sex change Christine must deal with the press.

"The Christine Jorgensen Story" part 2

Here is part 2 of clips from "THE CHRISTINE JORGENSEN STORY" This section involves the sex change operation.

Who Am I?

By asking this question, I started a journey.
Like any journey, it has had its highs and lows.
I was scared and excited.
I was lonely and I found new friends.
I had fun and I was sad.
Finding my way to my destination is full of challenges.
Through out my journey I had many questions and like many who have made this journey before, my questions may have started a long time ago.
Many of the best questions came from inside me.

For a long time I had felt 'different' than my friends or even people in my family.
I recognized that I felt different as early as the age of four.
In school I was called a sissy.
I was called the name because I was different, the name made me feel scared and hurt.
I felt angry.
I wanted the body I was suppose to have.

Many transgendered persons have a sense of 'differentness' very early in life.

In junior high I was put into a children's ward for kids with mental health issues. I was in there because I was transgender. They took all my creativity away, it was to feminine. I was forced to hide my true self for over 34 years, when I found I was not alone.

TRANSGENDERED is an umbrella term, relating to how some individuals express their gender identity. For some it may mean changing their gender, perhaps surgically; for others, to dress in the clothing of the opposite gender; for some to be free to express themselves as neither male or female; and for others it means having been born with ambiguous genitalia.

Fringe Theatre Adventures presents The Timekeepers

Fringe Theatre Adventures presents:
The Timekeepers
April 14 – 19 at 8pm
April 18 & 19 at 2pm
Westbury Theatre (10330-84 Avenue)

A powerful production about friendship and hope in a time of horror, The Timekeepers, by Israel’s Ocean of Sugar, returns to Edmonton for an exclusive Canadian engagement. In recognition of Holocaust Remembrance Day April 21, Fringe Theatre Adventures invites new and returning audiences to experience this important, internationally-acclaimed drama free of charge, by donation only.

When Hans, an outrageous gay German, and Benjamin, a conservative Jewish horologist, are thrown together in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, they appear to have little in common. As they work to repair watches for the Nazis under the Capo’s tyrannical eye, their mutual prejudice and mistrust slowly give way to a touching friendship.

Addressing the Holocaust with a combination of humour and sorrow, The Timekeepers accentuates the prisoner’s private experience amidst a tragedy of millions. An audience favourite and Hold-Over at 2006 Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, this award-winning production has met with rave reviews in London, Tel Aviv, New York and Vancouver.

Warning: The Timekeepers deals with mature subject matter. Discretion advised.

The Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies

The Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies offers an undergraduate program, a collaborative graduate program (M.A. and Ph.D.), hosts academic and community events, and promotes research into sexuality. It is a hub forging connections among faculty, undergraduates, graduate students, and community members interested in questions about how we understand sexual diversity and sexual practices.

Among these questions are how we frame and categorize sexual differences, why we fear some and celebrate others, how medical, religious, and political authorities respond to them. What is the nature of sexual identity and orientation? How and why is sexuality labeled as lesbian, heterosexual, perverse, normal, gay, or queer? How do cultures at different times and places divide the sexual from the non-sexual?

SDS provides opportunities to explore these questions across disciplinary boundaries, by the courses it sponsors, the programs it offers, and the public presentations it organizes. Faculty members associated with SDS come from about twenty departments and programs, including Aboriginal Studies, Anthropology, Criminology, East Asian Studies, Drama, Education, English, History, Information Studies, Italian, Law, Linguistics, Medieval Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, Physical Education and Health, Reformation and Renaissance Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Visual Studies, and Women's Studies.

The Centre is housed at University College, though its undergraduate programs are available to all students in the U of T's Faculty of Arts and Science. Undergraduate programming in Sexual Diversity Studies was first established in 1998, and now includes a Specialist, Major, and Minor program. SDS also has its own interdisciplinary courses at the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year levels.

SDS also offers an interdisciplinary graduate program at the M.A. and Ph.D. levels. Students must be admitted to a "home" program (e.g. English, Drama, Sociology, Information Studies) to be considered for entry to the collaborative program in sexual diversity studies.

Happiness is a Learning Curve

There are plenty of learning curves to choose from.
Traditionally as our chief learning curves:
1. pain;
2. suffering;
3. sacrifice;
4. failure.
Range of more pleasant learning curves:
5. love as a learning curve;
6. authenticity as a learning curve;
7. success as a learning curve.

You choose your learning curve.

Make a list of the top five lessons of happiness your life has taught you so far. Write down each lesson, specifically. Recall when you learned the lesson. Name the names of anyone else involved. And assess as honestly as you can a) how learning this lesson has influenced your life and b) how well you have learned this lesson (so that it doesn’t have to be repeated!).

I invite you to reflect on what your life wants you to learn about happiness right now.

“Imagine you have now stepped into your future. Take a few moments to review all your wishes for the future. Then see if you can identity any major life lessons on happiness you still have to learn.”

Thinking about Happiness
Happiness is the new darling of the social sciences.

An inquiry into happiness is an opportunity to rethink your life. As you deepen your happiness inquiry you get to test the truth of all of your assumptions and beliefs. Sometimes your inquiry will confirm what you already know to be true, and other times it will ask you to let go of ideas that you may have identified strongly with until now. Thinking about happiness takes great personal honesty and courage, but the rewards are also great. Below are five examples of how thinking about happiness can help you to get clearer about everything else that truly matters.

Rethink #1:
Happiness and Money.

Rethink #2:
Happiness and Circumstances.

Richard Kammann, of New Zealand, reports, “Objective life circumstances have a negligible role to play in a theory of happiness.”

Rethink #3:
Happiness and Education.

“Sorry, Mom and Dad, neither education nor, for that matter, a high IQ paves the road to happiness,” states Claudia Wallis, who compiled a report called “The New Science of Happiness” for TIME magazine.

Rethink #4:
Happiness and the Future.

“Nothing in the world can make you happy, but everything in the world can encourage you to be happy.”

Rethink #5:
Happiness and You.

Leading researchers David Myers and Ed Diener conclude, in their article entitled “Who Is Happy?”: “Happiness and life-satisfaction are similarly available to the young and the old, women and men, blacks and whites, the rich and the working-class.” Happiness research teaches us that the “enduring characteristics of the individual” are more important to happiness than external life circumstances.

Mark Easton, the writer-presenter of the BBC series The Happiness Formula. He said,

The logic of the new science [of happiness] is breathtaking. If it is right it requires us to rethink some of our most basic assumptions about how we work, how we live, and what we are trying to achieve. In short, the science of happiness may provide us with a new definition of what we mean by human progress.

These excerpt is taken from the new book Be Happy, by Robert Holden, Ph.D. It is published by Hay House (April 2009) and is available at all bookstore or online at: amazon.com.

From Break the Illusion

Dream Big-gleaned from breaktheillusion.com

It’s better to aim for the stars and reach the moon than to aim for a hilltop and reach it.

The only limitations that exist are the ones you accept as true.

There is far too much magic in this world for me to accept the possibility of impossible. Too many avatars have levitated. Too many ill people have spontaneously healed. Too many modern-day miracles have been documented.

The bottom line is this: If you believe in a limitation, than your life will forever be restricted by that belief. The possibility of living outside that limitation is suddenly nonexistent. Select your limitations wisely.

Ode

Ode is a print and online publication about positive news, about the people and ideas that are changing our world for the better.

Ode was founded in the spring of 1995 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands by Jurriaan Kamp and Helene de Puy. Kamp, a former editor and correspondent with the leading Dutch daily NRC Handelsblad, and de Puy wanted to create an alternative to mainstream publications, a magazine that was open to new inspirations and new visions from around the world. The cover of the first issue - a close-up image of a radiant woman laughing out loud - captured the joy and spontaneity they wanted Ode to embody.

For the first nine years of its existence, Ode was published in Dutch. But in the summer of 2004 Kamp and de Puy, who are partners in marriage as well as in publishing, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to launch the English-language edition of the magazine. Ode now appears ten times a year in both English and Dutch, with a worldwide circulation of more than 100,000. Over the past 12 years, Ode has helped make the 'alternative' media space more mainstream. The magazine profiled people like clown-doctor Patch Adams, guru Deepak Chopra and Dr. Andrew Weil long before more conventional publications made them household names.

During this time, Ode also built a community of readers who are passionate about the magazine and the issues for which it stands: positive social, environmental and economic change. Because these readers have a lot to say for themselves - and to each other- Ode created a new website that allows them to communicate, socialize and contribute to Ode. Odemagazine.com's mix of print and online journalism with user-generated content and social networking makes it unique on the Web.

In print and online, Ode's aim is to bring a new reality into view, to explore opportunities for positive change in our daily lives and our daily minds.

Six recession-proof steps to becoming a natural entrepreneur

Six recession-proof steps to becoming a natural entrepreneur
From ODE Magazine
This economic crisis may be just the push you need to find the career of your dreams.
Dave Pollard | April 2009 issue

Excerpt from the above article:
...natural entrepreneurs did six things differently from all the other stress-prone, boom-and-bust, struggling businesses that made up the majority of my clientele:

1. They had found their sweet spot, the work where their gifts, their passions and their purpose intersected.
2. They had found the right business partners, people who shared their purpose and whose gifts and passions complemented their own.
3. They did world-class research to identify real needs that weren’t being met by any other enterprise in the marketplace.
4. They used a rigorous, continuous process to invent and commercialize products and services that met those unmet needs.
5. Instead of planning for the future, they had learned how to improvise, to adapt easily to changes in the economy and demographics.
6. They acted with integrity, operating in a way that resonated with their values, and made principled decisions, not opportunistic ones, in the long-term interest of their partners, employees, customers and communities.

This is the formula that successful small enterprises have effectively followed since the time of artisans. And it still works.

I am a partylite consultant and am going to be doing a few chocolate spa shows and am in need of a chocolate fountain or a fondue set.

If anyone would be willing to part with one it would be muchly appreciated.

Thank-you

Special Event - Thursday, April 9th

Prism's Bar and Grill, Edmonton writes...

We have something a little different to offer you on Thursday, April 9th at 10 pm.

Sean Rogerson has landed a role it the new hit series Harper's Island. For those of you unfamilier with Sean, you may have heard his sister scream "THAT'S MY BROTHER!" everytime his commercials come on the tv at the bar.

The first episode is set to air April 9th and Prism will be holding a special screening for all the Sean Rogerson fans out there.

I urge all of you to come in and check out this future star, even if you don't know him yet. One day he could collect himself an Emmy and then you'll have chance to tell all your friends that you knew him before he was famous cause you dated someone, who slept with a chick, who knows a girl, that has a friend, who's the sister of this guy! I know...pretty awesome!!

Or you could just come down to enjoy watching the hottest new series of 2009 in a fun atmosphere. (I'm going for the first reason though).

So don't miss the broadcast premiere of HARPER'S ISLAND on Thursday, April 9 (10:00-11:00 PM) at Prism Bar & Grill.

For more information on Sean Rogerson or Harper's Island check out Sean's fanpage here:

Hope to see you there!

Looking for help to build a workbench

I am looking for help in building a workbench. Here are the plans - http://woodgears.ca/workbench/build.html If you can help me let me know what you would want in return.

Espial begins

It has been a long time since I have blogged anything. I have not taken the importance of sharing my world with others seriously. I thought what do I have to share with others? Yet I find things and discover so much through my journey in life, things I have decided to share. If you are looking for something ask me, I will try to find it for you or I will find someone who can.
You can also find me at twitter as Axcella. Come join me their. You can also find me listed under Biirtha Axcella Zelensky at Facebook.
Espial a fancy word for discovery. For a fancy woman and her discoveries.
